SUPPORT FOR EXEMPLAR ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECTS - SEEEP

DECEMBER 2009 - THE SEEEP GRANT PROGRAM IS NOW CLOSED - WE HOPE TO SEE ITS RETURN SOON - STAY UPDATED WITH ENERGYSAVING,IE

A finite amount of grant support is available from SEI for both public and private sector bodies who undertake projects that achieve significant energy savings, in 2009.
  • Applicants must already be participants in at least one SEI programme
  • The project must be completed and invoiced by 13th November 2009

Programme Objectives

The Programme objectives will be achieved by supporting public and private sector energy efficiency projects in Ireland which are relatively labour-intensive and deliver:

  • Maximum value for money
  • Strong, measurable energy savings

Who Can Avail of the Programme?

The Programme is open to private and public sector organisations participating in at least one of the following SEI programmes:

  • Advice Mentoring & Assessments Programme
  • Public Sector Commitment Programme
  • Energy MAP Training
  • Small Business Training
  • Large Industry Energy Network (LIEN)
  • Energy Agreements (IS 393)

  • What Projects are Eligible?

    The grant support will be provided for energy efficiency project implementation
    It is not limited to any specific project types or technologies per se. However, the Programme objectives will be best met if SEI awards grants to energy efficiency projects that:

    • Will deliver significant, quantifiable annual energy savings – in terms of kWh saved per year- to the applicant organisations
    • Are labour-intensive – as opposed to capital-intensive
    • Will involve the direct engagement of specialist, contracted labour during implementation
    • Build on the assessments and investigations already undertaken through the other SEI programmes
    • Offer opportunities for demonstration and replication

    The supported projects will be used as exemplars to demonstrate the savings opportunities and encourage others to act.

    What Level of Funding is Available?

    • Private sector: Up to 35% funding is available. Generally, grant support will not be less than €10,000 and will not exceed €100,000;
    • Public sector: Funding of typically 50% is available, although in some cases support up to 100% will be considered, for public bodies which are engaged in non-commercial activities. Generally, grant support will not be less than €15,000 and will not exceed €200,000;

    Eligible Costs

    The eligible costs are:

    • External labour costs
    • Equipment, hardware or control systems costs necessary to implement the project
    • Additional external specialist fees which must be incurred to implement the project
